About Me

The Blog » Life Stained Pages

Hey! Welcome to Life Stained Pages! This is a blog mainly about books, bookish things, book related blogging and social media, and, y’know, the occasional (bookish) candle. From time to time, I may also drop in some slightly different posts (I won’t spoil the surprise!) just to keep things interesting. As a relatively new site, things are still being worked out and tinkered with behind the scenes so please bear with me. If you happen to spot anything that doesn’t seem to be working or isn’t quite right, feel free to let me know – I may have missed it. It may only be small site now but I have big things planned for Life Stained Pages so I hope you’ll stick around!

A few things to note:

  • The posts that begin with a question mark are part of my “Getting to Know You” blog post series. Dive right in and let me know your answers. It’s my way of getting to know all you lovely people!
  • The posts that begin with quotation marks are quotes!
  • The posts that are a few words entirely in pink are links and 90% of the time will take you to an external site!

The Blogger » Meri

This is Me Hey there! I’m Meri. I’m 23-years-old and I live in the UK. I work full time. I stumbled into the world of book blogs and bookstagrams in late 2016 while helping to promote my mum’s debut novel, Catalyst. Over the few days that followed, I visited so many websites and I was in awe of what everyone was accomplishing on their blogs and bookstagrams. This inspired me to create Life Stained Pages and to get an Instagram account.

So now, on my days off I tend to blog, bookstagram and read. If I’m not doing any of those then I might be doing some other things I love, including cooking and baking, binging on Netflix series (Shadowhunters anyone?) or out running/visiting the gym! For a bit more info keep scrolling.

I love meeting and getting to know new people so don’t be afraid to get in touch (I don’t bite, promise)! There are a number of ways you can do this – just take a peek below!

So, I love books — who doesn’t?  I do have a confession, though: I haven’t actually read that many books. I’ve always been too busy with school and then college and then uni. Finally, I am free of all that and, while I do work full time, I have started reading a lot more. One of my goals for 2017 is to read over 20 books (which is unheard of for me but probably peanuts for all of you). Just shy of halfway through the year and I’m half way through this goal so I expect I will totally surpass that and have to make a new one!Book Heart

I generally read Young Adult but also read Children’s and New Adult. I tend to avoid Adult books at the moment but have read one or two that have been amazing. My go-to genre is fantasy but I also like science fiction and crime novels. The occasional romance novel is nice but I actively avoid erotica. Peter Pan and Matilda are two of my all-time favourite books.

I used to write loads – every day, somewhere between 2000-4000 words. Then Uni hit and all of a sudden I didn’t have time to write just because I wanted to. Getting back to my writing – especially creative writing – is something I really really want to do. To help encourage me to do it, I want to try and share some of my stories with you all via this blog. It will likely be Fanfiction or Sims Stories because I don’t often share full segments of my original work. So, stay tuned and let me know what you think!

I use all my own photographs and graphics for Life Stained Pages unless stated otherwise. You can check out more of my bookish photography over on Instagram!
